Arnold & Associates, a growing law firm in the Akron/Canton area with clients ranging from local closely held companies to publicly traded international corporations, is looking to hire an associate attorney with a strong interest in credit and collection defense, negotiation, and resolution, as well as business transactions, civil litigation and real estate law. This associate will also perform real estate title, escrow and closing functions for the title company, New Era Title Services, LTD.
Ideal candidates must possess exceptional communication, analytical, interpersonal, and writing skills. The candidate will: review and research credit reports and medical billings, work with clients, local counsel and membership organizations to negotiate resolution of medical billings with medical providers, collection agencies and law firms throughout the United States; supervise staff members to assist with the medical billings resolution processes; research and analyze the law on complex issues and write memorandums and briefs; analyze and summarize complicated legal documents, including contracts, and suggest alterations to those documents; perform discovery of various electronically stored data and hard copies of information in preparation for litigation; perform due diligence in legal matters concerning contracts, agreements, and mergers and acquisitions; and perform other duties as assigned.
In performing the real estate title functions, the candidate will: determine closing requirements by studying and clarifying buyer, seller, realtor and lender instructions; create new property record files; order title reports for issuing title insurance and resolve title defects; establish and maintain escrow accounts; prepare real estate closing transaction by assembling, preparing and reviewing closing documents; and conduct closing.
The candidate must have the following skills: Microsoft Office Skills (specifically Word, Excel and Outlook) and ability to learn and utilize other software and programs; skilled with legal research software; ability to compose client, business and legal correspondence; strong work ethic with high level of organization; ability to work quickly, efficiently, and accurately; ability to manage workload and shift priorities in a fast paced environment; ability to work independently, manage time effectively and establish priorities; strong initiative and problem-solving skills; communicate effectively with a wide variety of clients and other personnel; and the ability and desire to work hard and produce quality work.
